How to fish a football jig: Well there's no straight answer to that. Many factors are going to contribute to a good or bad jig bite ( weather, season, temperature, to name a few ) but 9 times out of 10 we're as the saying goes " Painting Rocks ". Rod tip down to the side and we drag the bait with the rod tip, try to avoid excessive movements of the jig. Think of how a crustacean moves along the in the water, very slow and methodical. Drag a foot at a time and reel in the slack as you reset your rod tip towards the bait to begin the next crawl. Wait for the distinctive tick of a fish strike!  (having said that you can flip, punch, and slow reel a football jig, every body of water has it's own distinct intricacies and a football jig is the most versatile of all the jig types in our opinion.)
